Single Sinusoidal Frequency Estimation Using Second and Fourth Order Linear Prediction Errors
نویسندگان
چکیده
By utilizing the second and fourth order linear prediction errors, a novel estimator for a single noisy sinusoid is devised. The frequency estimate is obtained from a solving a cubic equation and a simple root selection procedure is provided. Asymptotical variance of the estimated frequency is derived and confirmed by computer simulations. It is demonstrated that the proposed estimator is superior to the reformed Pisarenko harmonic decomposer, which is the improved version of Pisarenko harmonic decomposer. key words: frequency estimation, linear prediction, single sinusoid

Signal parameter estimation using fourth order statistics: multiplicative and additive noise environment
Parameter estimation of various multi-component stationary and non-stationary signals in multiplicative and additive noise is considered in this paper. It is demonstrated that the parameters of complex sinusoidal signal, complex frequency modulated (FM) sinusoidal signal and complex linear chirp signal in presence of additive and multiplicative noise can be estimated using a new definition of t...
متن کاملStanding Handball Throwing Velocity Estimation with a Single Wrist-Mounted Inertial Sensor
Background. It is well known that overarm throwing is one of the most performed activities in the handball. Shoulder and glenohumeral injuries incidence are high in handball because of both pass, and shooting activity was executed repeatedly in high angular speed. Objectives. This study set out to investigate the usefulness of inexpensive commercial inertial movement sensors for prediction of ...

This paper describes a novel analysis-synthesis method based on estimation and comparison between spectral methods that are specifically designed for modeling of random signals. These methods are an alternative to the discrete Fourier transform, providing high-resolution, smooth and easily interpretable spectral estimation over short signal frames. It is generally acknowledged that musical sign...
متن کاملImprovement in Differential GPS Accuracy using Kalman Filter
Global Positioning System (GPS) is proven to be an accurate positioning sensor. However, there are several sources of errors such as ionosphere and troposphere effects, satellite time errors, errors of orbit data, receivers errors, and errors resulting from multi-path effect which reduce the accuracy of low-cost GPS receivers. These sources of errors also limit the use of single-frequency GPS r...
متن کاملA Simple Improvement to Tufts-Kumaresan Method for Multiple Sinusoidal Frequency Estimation
Tufts-Kumaresan (TK) method, which is based on linear prediction approach, is a standard algorithm for estimating the frequencies of sinusoids in noise. In this Letter, the TK algorithm is improved by attenuating the noise in the observation vector with the use of the reduced rank data matrix. It is shown that the proposed modification can provide smaller mean square frequency errors with lower...
